Hair
Hair is made of a tough protein called keratin. A hair follicle anchors each hair into the skin. The hair bulb forms the base of the hair follicle. In the hair bulb living cells divide and grow
to build the hair shaft. Your hair begins growing from a root in the bottom of the follicle. The root is
made up of cells of protein. Blood from the blood vessels in your scalp feeds
the root which creates more cells and makes the hair grow. The hair
gets pushed up through the skin as it grows
passing an oil gland along the way. Hair is a protein
filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis or skin. Hair is one of
the defining characteristics of mammals. The human body apart from areas of
glabrous skin is covered in follicles which produce thick terminal and fine villus hair. Most common interest in hair is focused on hair growth hair types
and hair care but hair is also an important bio material primarily composed of
protein notably keratin. Hair is defined as a protein filament that grows
through the epidermis from follicles deep within the dermis. Hair can grow on
most areas of the human body except on the palms of the hands and the soles of
the feet but hair is most noticeable in most people in a small number of areas
which are also the ones that are most commonly trimmed plucked or shaved. These
include the face’ nose’ ears’ head’ eyebrows’ eyelashes’ legs and armpits as
well as the pubic region. Tiny blood vessels at the base of
every follicle feed the hair
root to keep it growing. But once the hair
is at the skin's surface the cells within the strand of hair aren't alive anymore. The hair you see on every part
of your body contains dead
cells. Hair colors are the result of two types of hair pigments. Both of
these pigments are melanin types produced inside the hair follicle and packed
into granules found in the fibers. Eu melanin is the dominant pigment in brown
hair and black hair while pheomelanin is dominant in red hair. Blond hair is
the result of having little pigmentation in the hair strand.
Green says minoxidil which is used to treat thinning hair can cause dandruff
like flaking as a side effect. But if left untreated it can become so itchy and
inflamed that it causes temporary hair
loss. That's another good reason to wash your hair with a dandruff
shampoo. The premature graying problem is largely genetic. Hair follicles contain pigment cells
that produce melanin which gives your tresses their color. When your body stops
generating melanin hair presents
itself as gray’ white’ or
silver. Hair loss also
known as alopecia or baldness refers to a loss of hair from
part of the head or body. Typically at least the head is involved. The
severity of hair loss can vary from a small area to the entire body. Typically
inflammation or scarring is not present. Hair loss in some people
causes psychological distress. Eggs yogurt and honey are at first glance all components
of a tasty breakfast but they also happen to be hair treatment ingredients and
affordable all natural ones at that. And they're not the only ones. Hair loss
often follows childbirth without causing baldness. In this situation the hair
is actually thicker during pregnancy due to increased circulating estrogen.
After the baby is born, the estrogen levels fall back to normal pregnancy
levels and the additional hair foliage drops out. The wonders of coconut oil never
cease. This oil is heavy which is great for penetrating deep into the hair
shaft but use it sparingly especially if you have fine or thin hair. Take a
tablespoon of coconut oil and apply to the ends of damp hair. If the oil is
solid just warm in the microwave until liquid before applying. Keep the oil on
overnight and shampoo out in the morning. To warm up ashy blonde hair tries
lemon juice. Both have long been used as whitening agents for blonde hair. You
can do a simple rinse by tilting your head back over the sink and pouring a cup
of cooled tea combined with the juice of a lemon over clean wet hair. Let sit
for a couple of minutes and rinse. I also tried this brightening mask that
combines tea and lemon with a grated potato. Shampoo applies to hair and blow
dry hair on low for 2-4 minutes. Then rinse and style. If your hair is frizzy
try mixing a packet of sugar with a cup of water. Pour a bit into your palms
then run hands over dry hair. Your hair will get a slight bit of crunch and
hold because you basically just made homemade hair spray. Baking soda. Combine
a handful of shampoo with one to two tablespoons of baking soda and massage
into hair. Warning: I have used baking soda to intentionally strip out hair
color so don’t use baking soda on recently colored hair. Apply the treatment oil of choice to clean, towel-dried hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap
and apply heat by sitting in the sun using a hot towel or using your blow
dryer. After heating the oil allow hair
to cool at room temperature and then rinse with cool water. Damaged hair with
this terrific home remedy combine 2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons
olive oil and 4 egg whites then rub the mix into your hair. Keeps your hair covered for about a half hour using plastic
wrap or a shower cap then shampoo and rinse.
