Mangoes fruit





Mangoes are juicy stone fruit from numerous species of tropical trees belonging to the flowering plant genus Magnifier cultivated mostly for their edible fruit. Mango trees grow to 35–40 m (115–131 ft) tall, with a crown radius of 10 m (33 ft). The trees are long-lived, as some specimens still fruit after 300 years. In deep soil, the taproot descends to a depth of 6 m (20 ft) with profuse wide-spreading feeder roots; the tree also sends down many anchor roots, which penetrate several feet of soil. Mangoes are rich in vitamin A, C, and D. It is also called the king of fruits. Research has shown antioxidant compounds in mango fruit have been found to protect against colon, breast leukemia and prostate cancers. These compounds include quartering, isoquercitrin, and astral in, fasting, Gallic acid and methylgallat as well as the abundant enzymes.
The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad stuff). Can be used both internally and externally for the skin. One cup of sliced mangoes supplies 25 percent of the needed daily value of vitamin A which promotes good eyesight and prevents night blindness and dry eyes.
