The Census in Pakistan, USA and all over countres



The Census in Pakistan is a decennial census and a descriptive count of population on the Census Day, and of their dwellings, conducted and supervised by the Bureau of Statistics of Ministry of Finance and Statistics.
The Census are mandated and legally subjected by the Constitution of Pakistan that is to be compulsory held within every subsequent Term of Ten Years.
After the independence of Pakistan as an aftermath of partition of India in 1947, the first censuses were taken place in 1951 under Finance Minister Sir Malik Ghulam, serving under Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan. Since 1951, there have been only 6 nationwide censuses in the country but censuses have been delayed due to politicization of the issue. The current nationwide censuses are being currently held and the next is scheduled for 2027.
According to 1951 census, the population of Pakistan was 75 million, with 33.7 million residing in West Pakistan and 42 million residing in East Pakistan. According to 1961 census, the population of Pakistan was 93 million, with 42.8 million residing in West Pakistan and 50 million residing in East Pakistan. As per 1998 census, population of Pakistan was 130,857,717. With the inclusion of the population of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, the population was 134,714,017 in 1998. The sixth national population census in Pakistan is going to be held from March 15 to May 25 2017. This census was held after 19 years instead of 10 years as directed by Constitution of Pakistan.
