Thomas Cruise Mapother born July 3, 1962 known professionally as Tom Cruise is an American actor and producer. Cruise was born in Syracuse New York the son of Mary Lee Pfeiffer a special education teacher and Thomas Cruise Mapother III an electrical engineer. He has three sisters Lee Anne, Marian and Cass. They are of English, German, and Irish ancestry. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has won three Golden Globe Awards. He started his career at age 19 in the film Endless Love 1981.
