Vanilla





Vanilla is frequently used to flavor ice cream especially in North America and Europe. Vanilla ice cream like other flavors of ice cream was originally created by cooling a mixture made of cream’ sugar and vanilla above a container of ice and salt. There is no denying that ice cream isn't exactly a health food. ice cream does provide your body with a handful of key nutrients including bone strengthening calcium and phosphorus blood pressure lowering potassium and energizing B vitamins. Vanilla was first used among the Mexica people. The vanilla bean was brought back to Spain with the conquistadors. In Spain vanilla was used to flavor a chocolate drink that combined cacao beans’ vanilla’ corn’ water and honey. To make ice cream in the United States during the eighteenth century cooks and confectioners needed a larger wooden bucket a metal freezing pot with a cover called a sorbetiere ice salt and the cream based mixture that they planned on freezing. Ice cream is flavored by artificial or natural vanilla flavoring. The newest diet featured in Prevention magazine you can lose weight and eat ice cream once a day too. The trick is moderation and eating healthy meals the rest of the day. Women may have 2 cup of ice cream and men may have 2 cups per day. That sugar can actually stoke your sweet tooth and if you don't feel satisfied you may eat twice as much which means even more calories a half cup of ice cream is about 350 calories but a cup of frozen yogurt is about 450. Ice cream is also high in sugar which makes up the majority of its carbohydrate content. The Mayo Clinic website warns that consumption of too much sugar may contribute to health problems such as weight gain cavities and increased levels of blood triglycerides another unhealthy type of fat. Some people say that when you have a craving for a certain food it's a sign that your body needs the nutrients in that food. But ice is not a good source of iron or other nutrients. Although chewing ice isn't likely to cause anemia it's certainly not going to cure it either. Crunching Ice Can Be Bad for Your Teeth. While blenders and ice crushers are perfect for crunching ice cubes teeth are not. Craving and chewing ice is often associated with iron deficiency anemia. Creamy’ sweet’ cold and refreshing ice cream contains some protein and calcium. It also contains a large amount of fat and sugar which drives up the calorie content of the treat. Ice cream can lead to weight gain if you eat too much of it. There is nothing better than an ice cream especially on a hot summer day. There is no better dessert to serve after a delicious dinner. Ice cream is an outstanding source of energy. It has a very high nutritional value. It contains carbohydrates fats and proteins all of which are essential for energy. It helps to gain weight.
